A Deliberate Healing Meditation Suddenly Gets Very Real:

Study validates the value of intercessory prayer|You may be pleased to know that intercessory prayer (prayer or healing at a distance for another) has some scientific validation. The Archives of Internal Medicine (Harris et al.1999) has just published a randomized, controlled, double-blind study that demonstrates the efficacy of prayer (or distance healing, as you call it). Over the course of 12 months, cardiac patients admitted to a hospital were randomly assigned to the prayed for group or to the control group. None of the patients even knew that they were being prayed for. Results of the study suggest that the prayers had a beneficial effect. Until now there was only one well-designed study demonstrating the positive results of intercessory prayer (Byrd,1988). Now there are two studies in traditional, peer reviewed medical journals demonstrating the power of distance healing. Finally, some scientific validation!

A Deliberate Healing Meditation Suddenly Gets Very Real: Hypnosis also used for internal body viewing
JRB

I witnessed a similar occurrence in the mid 1980's during a demonstration of hypnosis. At this time an MD who worked in an emergency room was hypnotized and told she could see into people's bodies. She proceeded to describe in detail an injury another attendee had to his shoulder as if the intervening skin and muscle had been removed to expose the joint in question. The MD and person did not know each other nor had he said anything about the injury before the hypnosis demonstration. The description was dead on according to the other medical personnel present.
